From the Cleft of the Rock...
Worship is what we do every day of our lives, not only on Sunday. How
we spend our time each day reflects what or who we truly worship.
We live in difficult times, Beloved. You and I are surrounded by
losses of many kinds with the economic crisis and stresses of life.
Many people are seeking answers. I have found that if we are bold
enough to ask the questions, we may not always get answers, but we can
find God in the questions.
I set aside a day for a Sabbath rest, although it was a Wednesday.
Resting and spending quiet time with God, walking before the rain came
- then in it. Meditating on my next best step in Him... A truly
restful Sabbath - even on a Wednesday. I don't think Jesus minds at all
since He is the Lord of the Sabbath: Hebrews 4:1-16. He is our Sabbath
Rest we so desperately need for every day - not only on Sunday. It's
been too long since I've had a block of time at home to have a restful
day to seek God. - Maybe you too?
One block of time in God's presence, praying, listening and reading His
words... then you'll realize: God is here; always here. He speaks to us
in the quiet. God is here, even and especially in the storms. He
gives us hopeful things to hang on to. We just have to keep our eyes
and ears - and hearts - open to Him.
Seek Him and you will find rest - amongst other good things - and that
He really is all you'll ever need. In the way we respond to life and
all it brings, in the way we treat others, in the seeking - we reflect
our object of worship.
As for me and my household - we choose to worship The Lord. Blessed be His Name!
